Message from the Feast Creative Producer
You told me you loved the hub, but wanted more!
So that’s just what we did!
Welcome to another fabulous Feast! It's time for everyone to come
together to celebrate our amazing festival!
In 2011, Light Square will once again become our place, where we
will create a vibrant Festival Hub. The Ballroom and Lounge venues
will host a torrent of world class cabaret and theatre performances,
live music, films, literary events and even some outdoor cooking
at The Camp Site, our fabulous new venue. The Camp Site is the
place to enjoy improvised music nights, poetry readings or just
sitting around the camp fire.
For the fi rst time Feast will create an outdoor cinema, where you can
enjoy free silent movies. We have created exhibition spaces for six
high profi le queer art shows as well as revamping the outdoor stage,
so local DJ’s and talented emerging musicians can play every night!
Light Square will host our huge Opening Night Party, Picnic After
Party and Feast’s brand new CommUNITY Weekend. The middle
weekend of Feast will be jam packed with a commUNITY expo,
garage sale, a wellbeing retreat, an afternoon tea feast, circus
workshops, giant board games, zumba, salsa, belly dancing
classes and so much more!
I encourage you to attend as many Feast events as possible
and make the Hub the central meeting place for the LGBTIQ
community and our friends in November. This is your festival,
come out, support and enjoy it!
Thank you to the Feast staff and Board who have worked
particularly hard this year, our wonderful volunteers and the
hundreds of artists and community members who bring you Feast.
In 2011, I hope we all come together to enjoy a fabulous festival!
