FEAST ON...

Bobby Macumber & Lori Bell

The Dykeside - Maternal Instincts

They’re best friends. They’re mums. They’re funny as hell. And now, after a five-year hiatus, they’re back on stage together.
The Dykeside – Maternal Instincts is the brand-new comedy show from veteran comedians Lori Bell & Bobby Macumber — a raw, hilarious, and heartfelt take on modern parenting through a queer lens.
Their story is as charming as it is serendipitous: Lori met her wife at a comedy night Bobby was running. Bobby met her wife when she came to watch Lori perform at a previous Dykeside show. Fast forward through IVF treatments, miscarriages, and motherhood milestones— Lori now has a five-year-old, and Bobby is juggling gigs and life with a nine-month-old baby.
This new show is an honest, unapologetic, and deeply funny look at queer family-making, friendship, and the chaos that is parenting. Expect everything from breast pumps to bedtime routines, and awkward questions from strangers about the baby's fathers?!
After years of navigating the complexities of fertility clinics, late-night gigs, and rainbow families, Bobby and Lori bring a perspective that’s rarely seen on stage—but desperately needed.
The Dykeside – Maternal Instincts is for anyone who’s ever tried to build a family, lost sleep over a screaming baby, or just needs a laugh that comes with a side of truth.
