Adelaide's Feast Festival - celebrating diverse sexualities and genders.
Started in 1997 and running every year since, Feast has cemented its place as Australia's leading festival of queer arts and culture.
The festival consists of a curated program of works produced by Feast and an open access component, where artists and event organisers can register to be part of the program.
Here’s a snapshot of what happened at the 2009 FEAST Festival
• 16 Day festival with 15 World Premieres & 27 Aust Premieres
• 103 Events encompassing 148 Performances & 4 Book Launches
• 40,860 Total Attendance figures (ticketed events)
• 225,000 Projected Total audience figures (inc Visual Arts & Radio Adel)
• 214 Visual Arts Gallery Days
• 4 Official Feast Parties
• 4 Forums
• 8th Year of the Feast Show and the
• 20th Picnic in the Park, supported by 48 stallholders (our largest to date)
• 63 Partners, funding bodies and Sponsors
• 500+ Artists participated
• 17 Media Partners
• 180+ Volunteers
• 49 Venues
• 4 Sporting activities (hosted by Team Adelaide)
• 1st Visual Arts Bike Tour
• 1st GLBTIQ Poker Tournament in Australia
Feast experienced it all with a temperature range for the festival of 21 – 42 Degrees, hot and humid, through to rain, rain and heavy winds, and just about everything in between.
