The aim of the service is to assist people, aged 55 and over from Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and/or Intersex (LGBTI) communities, to access the aged care system in a culturally safe way.

The LGBTI Connectors are all LGBTI community members with knowledge of ECH services and the aged care system.

The LGBTI Connectors speak with people who need support to stay living independently at home and talk through options and services to enable this. Services include

  • Independent Retirement Living;
  • At-Home Services;
  • Wellness Services; and
  • Respite Service.

LGBTI Connect has been designed by South Australian aged care provider ECH in conjunction with a co-design group of 13 older people who identify as lesbian, gay and/or transgender.

ECH is proud to be the first aged care provider in South Australia to receive Rainbow Tick accreditation and to provide a flagship service for elders from LGBTI communities.

For further information or to arrange a meeting with an LGBTI Connector, please contact ECH Member Connect on 1300 275 324 or email LCInbox@ech.asn.au
