This year we are taking it to the street, yes you read thatright this year’s Back Door dance party is spilling out to the street to dance and party the night away. With the laneway being closed off for us we will be celebrating with some of Australia’s kinkiest DJ’s, Drinks Specials, Playrooms (Inside) and chill out areas so you can experience the full BackDoor GEAR’d Experience.

Join us at City and Hutt Street Libraries for a series of workshops with Feast Writer in Residence Ezra Théodore Tillett. During this residency, Ezra will run weekly workshops to help you find your voice and express your true self.

 

Writing A Picture:

In this workshop you will learn about ‘show don’t tell’ employing subtlety in writing, the art of description, character and when to put the pen down.

Writing Structure: 

In this workshop you will learn about  story and poem structures, grounded foundations for creative flight, grammar and formatting as an artform.

Sat 13th Nov – 12:00pm @ Hut Street Library

 

Writing Identity: 

In this workshop you will learn about approaching research and discussion, expression of personal identity, respect and considerations for others.

Sat 20th Nov – 10:30pm @ Hutt Street Library

 

Writing Art: 

In this workshop you will learn about text and subtext, intertextuality and reference, framing, symbolism, and theme.

Writing Joy:

In this workshop you will learn about editing and critiquing yourself, ‘Death Of The Author’, the myth of ‘Lazy’, writing for yourself or others, writing for the sake of writing.
