Queer Ball – Come & Try!

Adelaide Spikers Volleyball Club

Interested in playing a sport but not sure what’s right for you? Looking to meet new people in your community but not sure where to start? Why not give volleyball a try? Come along to one of Adelaide’s oldest LGBTQIA+ inclusive sports clubs and tick off both those needs. At Adelaide Spikers Volleyball Club, we regularly welcome all skill levels and all sexualities and genders. Brand new to the sport, or haven’t played since high school? No worries. We’ll happily give you a crash course on basic skills before getting you on the court.

As we’re all about creating safe spaces and developing the social aspect, our teams are made up on the night to balance skill levels. So, there’s no requirement to have a team. All you need is the desire to participate and have fun, and we’ll hopefully provide the rest. Registrations are essential. (Proceeds donated to a queer charity).

About the presenter: Adelaide Spikers Volleyball Club

Adelaide Spikers Volleyball Club is one of Adelaide's oldest queer sports clubs. Celebrating over 30 years as a safe sporting space. We offer court volleyball during the school year, because we play at Thebarton Senior College, and now run beach volleyball over the summer break at Glenelg. Our club community is comprised of different ages, genders, sexualities, ethnicities, and skill levels. Our hope is to always be a safe space for anyone wishing to play volleyball, find community, or who has been othered in their prior sporting experiences. We welcome all skill levels, including those who have not played before.

Feast Festival acknowledges that we gather, create and celebrate on the traditional lands of the Kaurna people.
We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging, and recognise First Nations peoples as the original storytellers, artists and custodians of this land.
We honour and respect queer First Nations communities, including Sistagirls and Brothaboys, and recognise the enduring connection between culture, identity, community and Country.
Sovereignty was never ceded. Always was, always will be Aboriginal Land.
